TURBO aims to combine advances from different disciplines to improve the sustainability of wind turbine blade (WTB) production by reducing defect formation and improving composite and coating repair strategies.

TURBO aims to combine advances from different disciplines to improve the sustainability of wind turbine blade (WTB) production by reducing defect formation and improving composite and coating repair strategies.

Impact

The goal of TURBO is to enable decisions made during the manufacturing process to reduce defect formation and improve defect assessment. In this way, the waste rate will decrease and manufacturing processes will be optimized to reduce production waste. In general terms, therefore, TURBO will focus on the development of machine learning-based algorithms for process control during the production of turbine blades.
