PROJECT INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

The main objective of this proposal is to increase the TRL of the proposed solution for the cold start-up of offshore wind farms and to increase its valorization for companies in the sector. The specific objectives are the development of a pilot prototype consisting of a real-time system (digital twin) with sufficient complexity (about 20 wind turbines, including PWM models of machine-side and grid-side converters, AC and DC submarine cables, transformers with validated saturation characteristics, modular multilevel converters of at least 401 levels, including protection systems). The digital twin shall also include a detailed aeroelastic-mechanical model of the wind turbines.
