PROJECT INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

The ISLA project aims to bring about a change in the way audio-related applications are conceived, adding ambient intelligence to spatial audio synthesis and monitoring tasks. This goal is possible in the new era of the Internet of Things (IoT), which enables the interconnection of multiple devices with high computing and sensing capabilities. It is therefore expected that the support offered by such platforms together with the combination of audio signal processing and machine learning will have a strong impact on the development of future audio systems over a wide range of contexts. In particular, the improvement in spatial audio achieved by these advances will come from the gain in intelligence, flexibility, realism and the potential reduction in economic cost. Enriched user experiences derived from customized playback approaches or intelligent analysis of ambient sound will be key to taking spatial audio to a new stage.
