DESCRIPTION

This project will evaluate the possibility of counteracting the effect of deformations during the part design process, so that a model corresponding to the counter deformation is designed and fabricated. After manufacturing this counterform, the part will be subjected to deformations that depend on the material, the technology and the geometry of the part itself, obtaining the part with the desired geometry without deformations.

Impact

The overall objective of the CONTRADEFORMADA project is to determine the method or process to be used to eliminate or attenuate the deformation that occurs in additive manufacturing processes. In order to achieve the main objective of the project, it is necessary to achieve the following specific objectives:1.Identification and evaluation of the deformations of parts manufactured with different additive manufacturing technologies and with different materials.2.Evaluation of software capable of generating counterform files.3.Evaluation of the deformations after the manufacturing of the counterform of the parts.4.Analysis of the most suitable dimensional verification methods for additive manufacturing parts.
