PROJECT INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

Processing of an ultralight titanium-aluminum based alloy by means of the additive manufacturing technology known as Electron Beam Melting (EBM).

Processing of an ultralight titanium-aluminum based alloy by means of the additive manufacturing technology known as Electron Beam Melting (EBM).

Impact

The purpose of the project is to develop an ultralight material using additive manufacturing technology as an alternative to traditional manufacturing. In this way, a TiAl metallic material, namely Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb, has been processed by EBM after parameter development, although a new route to obtain metal-graphene composite material from an affordable graphene precursor such as sucrose (purified sugar) has also been explored.
