PROJECT INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

The main objective of the AD-DERMA project is the research and development of an intelligent tool for dermatological screening to assist in the detection and delimitation of the main types of skin cancer (melanoma and basal cell carcinoma) and to do so in real time without the need for biopsy and by means of an automated and non-contact technique.

Impact

The expected end result of the AD-DERMA project is a solution to help dermatologists in the detection of the two types of skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma as the most frequent and melanoma as the most lethal), performing the exploration of the patient in an automated way thanks to collaborative robotics and augmented reality, making a diagnosis in real time using artificial intelligence, assisting in excision surgery by delimiting the affected area and having the functionality to be operated remotely by telemedicine.
