PROJECT INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

The definition of a citizen innovation laboratory, based on the principles of Smart City and Thick Data, will result in creating environments for citizens that are more livable, safer, healthier, and with greater leisure and cultural offerings. Essential components that make up what we know as quality of life. The definition and incorporation of qualitative methodologies to generate context information will allow companies to have an advantageous position to exploit the data generated in the Smart City environment, generating new business opportunities. In addition, a Smart City information visualization methodology will be developed. And qualitative information will be included in a route optimization model for light electric vehicles.

Impact

The limitations presented today by Big Data to explain people's behavior can be overcome by using qualitative social research techniques, generating what has come to be known as Thick Data. The combination of massive data analysis is necessary to investigate the causes of people's behavior in environments that require the processing of huge amounts of data, such as the Smart City. On the other hand, SmartCity (SC) models have implemented automated information recording systems aimed at public administrations' decision making. In this sense, processes of citizen involvement and information have been created, although the integration of companies operating in urban ecosystems in order to obtain solutions to needs and demands posed by citizens has had a much lower level of development.

The CiuDATÀ project is shown as an opportunity to influence the integration of companies in the Valencian Community in the SC models. In this way, the aim is for these companies to adopt a more active role, with the objective of offering solutions in the form of products and services based on people's needs and preferences, thus promoting the full integration of the quadruple helix in CS.
