PROJECT INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

The general objective of the CEFAM cluster (Strategic Program for the Training of Excellence in Additive Manufacturing of Metallic Materials) is to improve the training of the research groups of the 4 participating centers in the technological area of Additive Manufacturing for metallic materials, creating a know-how of excellence at international level, which is also market-oriented and has a tractor effect on the Spanish industrial fabric through public-private collaboration.

Impact

The technical objectives of the CEFAM project are:To investigate at laboratory level the possibility of processing new high strength aluminum alloys,to evolve the processing technique by EBM of pure copper and high strength copper alloy, to increase the knowledge about the existing relationship between the defects present in the parts and the resulting final properties during Ti64 processing with different techniques (EBM, SLM, WAAM) and Scalmalloy with SLM, analyze the effect of the whole value chain (powder, process parameters and design rules, post-processing steps and verification and inspection methods) on magnetic materials processed with DML, evolve the current state of the art regarding nickel-based superalloys from powder configuration to LMD and SLM processing, develop the LMD and WAAM manufacturing process to relevant demonstrators in tool steels and high wear resistance steels, develop new process parameters in INVAR and new applications for the space sector, develop alternative femtosecond laser-based additive manufacturing technologies for materials with difficult processability, develop new process parameters in INVAR and new applications for the space sector, develop alternative femtosecond laser-based additive manufacturing technologies for materials with difficult processability, develop new process parameters in INVAR and new applications for the space sector, develop alternative femtosecond laser-based additive manufacturing technologies for materials with difficult processability, develop new process parameters in INVAR and new applications for the space sector, develop new process parameters in INVAR and new applications for the space sector.
