WHO WE ARE

The Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) is a technology centre that studies the behaviour of the human body and its relationship with the products, environments and services that people use. It combines knowledge from biomechanics, anthropometry, ergonomics, human functions and people's needs and preferences to improve business competitiveness and quality of life.

Technological capabilities

Big Data

Access to Data Sets

Description

Databases of human body shapes and measurements. The service is offered to generate average body shapes and percentiles for specific populations defined by companies.

Access to Data Sets

Description

Datasets related to morphometry of the human body in motion (Move 4D)

Sectors

  • Manufactura
  • Salud
Data protection and governance

Description

VLC.DATA, an online platform that allows, on the one hand, easy access to different profiles of people interested in participating voluntarily in studies carried out at the IBV and, on the other hand, the secure storage and management of personal data (not anonymized) collected in these studies, for future joint exploitation and sharing with other centers, ensuring compliance with the RGPD.

IA

Digital Twins

Description

3D anthropometry of the human body. Mobile applications for obtaining body morphometry (3D avatar) and foot morphometry. Calculation of the anthropometric measurements of each person. Apps that can be integrated into the customization and sales process of footwear and apparel companies.

Pattern recognition

Description

ErgoIA is a web platform that uses AI for the automatic analysis of people's postures at their workstations for subsequent ergonomic evaluation. ergoIA currently integrates the ergonomic risk assessment methodologies OWAS, REBA and Repetitive Tasks.

Sectors

Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Description

Smart Citizen Voice methodology, a methodology that responds to a sequential process, which starts with the analysis of open data with Big data models, expanded, refined and validated by methodological approaches of a subjective nature as in the case of the analysis of data from social networks (Social Media Data) to end with qualitative studies aimed at understanding in detail the situations of study (Thick data), and the identification of solutions.

Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Description

WAUMAP, an online platform for evaluating people's response to stimuli, provides key indicators of consumer perception, visual attention and emotional reaction through facial image analysis algorithms, voice transcription and natural language processing.
